Matcha Fever!

23 Aug

In last blog post, Yuki mentioned “Matcha Kitkat”. We both are in love with Matcha (Green Tea) Flavor. We can buy many Japanese stuff here in London. But unfortunately Matcha is not really one of them…

Matcha is very addictive. If you had once before, you know how addictive it is! So I am always thinking about Matcha flavor. Then I decided to buy Matcha powder last time I went back to Japan. (Yuki even bought more of it when she went back!) Once you have it, you can make everything Matcha flavor. Matcha latte, Matcha icecream, Matcha chocolate, Matcha bread!

Last week, I had some spare time. I was a bit bored… Then ta-da!

I baked Matcha Cockies! It looks quite greeny, isn’t it? I followed the recipe very carefully, but somehow it was too much green tea taste in it… But I loved it.
Anyways, here is a recipe of Matcha Cookie I bakes.

*Matcha (Green Tea)  Soft Cookies*

Margarine (or Butter)     50g (Room Temperature preferably)
Granulated Suger              50g
Honey                                    15g
Flour                                      100g
Matcha Powder*               10g (if you want that greeny as I baked, put less)
Baking Powder                   1/2 tea spoon
Chocolate Chips                 50g (or as much as you want)
*You can buy at oriental super market
1. Whisk the butter in a bawl. If it is not warm as room temperature, just microwave it for about 10 seconds (if 700w)
2. Microwave honey and suger for 10 seconds to make it smoother. Add in the bawl with the butter. Stir well.
3. Add the flour, the matcha powder and the baking powder. Stir well until you can’t see powder anymore and  it gets dough texture.
4. Preheat oven 150 degrees C. Then get baking sheet ready on a tray.
5. Make golf ball sized dough balls and add chocolate chips. Flatten balls in 1cm(2/5 inch) thick.

6. Bake for about 10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for at least 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely hence it is quite soft when it is done.

This surely tastes different from cookies normally eaten outside of Japan. I love eating Matcha flavored sweets with a cup (or more) of green tea. Fancy cuppa with Japanese style??

And benefit from eating/drinking green tea? According to news today, it may cure (skin) cancer. At least three cups of tea a day as Huff post tells… What a piece of cake!

I’m back from Japan!

1 Aug

Hello!

This is Yuki if you know me!

I came back from Japan last week. It was whole three weeks I spent there. Seeing my friends, family and dog (I absolutely LOVE my dog)! It was all sooo good!!

I meant to take loads of photos of Japanese cuteness there, but my bad. I was too busy catching up with my friends and stuff, I hardly took any….

These are the few photos I took in Tokyo. They were so cute that I had to show you! It was Uniqlo’s window display. When I saw these, I really felt back in my county!! Love for craziness and cuteness.

Hello kitty dress

Can you see there are a few Union Jack Hello kitty too?

Little Twin Stars dress

How crazy and cute are they!!
It was in a place called Ginza in Tokyo and it’s a very very busy place. I had to stop in the middle of street (must have been super annoying to others) and looked like a tourist in my own country! Ha!

You might be mad at me because I didn’t take more photos but I think you’ll have to forgive me if I tell you I brought some gifts back. We are thinking about how to give them so I’ll let you know as soon as we decided. As for now, I can tell you that Maccha (Green tea) Kit Kat  is one of my souvenir from Japan.

See? Now you must love me?

eBay Photo Improvement!

8 Jul

Quite often, we have got questions from customers asking how big stickers or cards are. When you try to buy something online, whatever it is, size does matter. I’ve been thinking we should have measurements on eBay listings.

Now all stocks are in my hands. So using rainy Sunday, I have been working on taking new photos of our products. Here is one of the photos I took earlier today.

I mistakenly did wrong setting on my camera… So it looks a bit like instagram…So I’ll have to try to make it more like “product photo”. But I think it is very convenient for customers. Hope I can upload all the photos before Yuki comes back.

By the way, I am currently using Fuji X100. It is really a cool camera. When I left my former company, I bought this for myself as a farewell gift. I didn’t know anything about photography. I just liked the design of this camera. I just fell in love right away when I saw this. It was not cheap. But now I am really loving using this camera.

Fortunately, some of my friends taught me how to take photos and use this camera. So all the photos on eBay were taken by this camera.

If you have any query or request about our products, service, etc… please don’t hesitate to drop us a line. We are happy to help then improve our service!

Happy Birthday America!

4 Jul

Last time I wrote the article on the blog, it was about Canada Day. And I mentioned Independence Day. Then today is the day! So I have to say “Happy Birthday America!”.

I haven’t been to America (nor Canada) for ages. Since we have started to ship to North America, we have quite many American customers. I am not really sure if people in America can buy stuff like we sell. But we are very happy that we can have customers from all over the world. We really hope we can visit America to sell our cute stickers and stationery! … Someday.

I tried to write something interesting about America by using Independence Day as an excuse… As usual, nothing come up so far…

Anyways, have a great Independence Day evening! Fireworks!?!?(Jealous!)

Happy Canada Day to Canadian customers!

It is Canada Day. I am not Canadian. But we’ve got Canadian customers occasionally. So I would like to cerebrate Canadian National Holiday a bit! It is going to be Independence Day in America, too! Canadian and American customers! We ship to North America!

By the way, This is first time for me, Akane, writing this blog. Now Yuki is in Japan. So I am in charge of her rolls while she is having a blast summer holiday in Japan! (Jealous??)  I would like to write something funny, but nothing came up to my mind so far… So I used Canadian Holiday for an excuse… :P

I am usually working on Merchandising side of mocomoco tokyo using my former experience as a Stationery Buyer in Japan.  Also taking pictures of products, making logos and so on…

Now I am very happy that I can have opportunities to do some customer service which Yuki is always doing. New things, new experience!

It is Sunday evening in London. I am now going down to a local pub to watch Euro 2012 match. I am not a big fun of football. But I like lively genki (“cheerful” in Japanese) atmosphere! How do you spend a nice Sunday evening??

Matryoshka, the Russian doll heaven!!!

22 Jun

If you have been to our shop on eBay, you might have noticed that we have many Matryoshka, Russian doll products.

Because we know that there are many Matryoshka-addicts out there!! Hehe, I’m one of them myself.

In case you haven’t seen our Matryoshka collection, I’m going to show you all we’ve got!

We have 4 different Matryoshka cards,

Details here!

Details here!

These ones are normal size (well, what is normal size? I don’t know!) The envelope is about 10cm x 15cm.
They are absolutely adorable and beautiful. They’ve got lots of sparkling stuff on. When you open it,

Oh my goodness! They are criminally cute!
The first one is birthday card and the second one is For You card which you can use on any occasion!

These are mini cards.

Details here!

Details here!

The size of envelope is 6.5cm x 9cm. They are quite small so that you can put them on a bunch of flowers, cake boxes, anywhere really!
And of course they are very pretty when you open them as well.

It’s different from the bigger cards, yet these small dolls are very very pretty!! These ones don’t have lots of different materials on but they are glitter-coated. I know gilrs love sparking thingy! There is a blank space for a short message on the back!

Next one is not a card. It’s sticky notes.

Details here!

Again, they are super cute. To be fair, I ‘d say so about any products we sell. But trust me, I am only being honest. I wouldn’t sell anything that I don’t fall in love with!

Sorry I don’t have a sample for this and can’t take a picture of it being in use.

These are different design but you get the idea how to use, right?
We had one more Matryoshka product.  It’s a sticker.

Unfortunately, it’s currently out of stock. We are not too sure when we get them next. But I’ll let you know as soon as it’s in stock. They were very popular and first ones to be sold out.

That’s all of our Matryoshka goods. Do you love Matryoshka like us?

Let me know which one you like most!!

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!  I’m going to BBC Radio 1 festival tomorrow! Yay!!

So the deal is that you need to make a short video or animation to show how Kikkoman inspired you!
