Matcha Fever!

23 Aug

In last blog post, Yuki mentioned “Matcha Kitkat”. We both are in love with Matcha (Green Tea) Flavor. We can buy many Japanese stuff here in London. But unfortunately Matcha is not really one of them…

Matcha is very addictive. If you had once before, you know how addictive it is! So I am always thinking about Matcha flavor. Then I decided to buy Matcha powder last time I went back to Japan. (Yuki even bought more of it when she went back!) Once you have it, you can make everything Matcha flavor. Matcha latte, Matcha icecream, Matcha chocolate, Matcha bread!

Last week, I had some spare time. I was a bit bored… Then ta-da!

I baked Matcha Cockies! It looks quite greeny, isn’t it? I followed the recipe very carefully, but somehow it was too much green tea taste in it… But I loved it.
Anyways, here is a recipe of Matcha Cookie I bakes.

*Matcha (Green Tea)  Soft Cookies*

Margarine (or Butter)     50g (Room Temperature preferably)
Granulated Suger              50g
Honey                                    15g
Flour                                      100g
Matcha Powder*               10g (if you want that greeny as I baked, put less)
Baking Powder                   1/2 tea spoon
Chocolate Chips                 50g (or as much as you want)
*You can buy at oriental super market
1. Whisk the butter in a bawl. If it is not warm as room temperature, just microwave it for about 10 seconds (if 700w)
2. Microwave honey and suger for 10 seconds to make it smoother. Add in the bawl with the butter. Stir well.
3. Add the flour, the matcha powder and the baking powder. Stir well until you can’t see powder anymore and  it gets dough texture.
4. Preheat oven 150 degrees C. Then get baking sheet ready on a tray.
5. Make golf ball sized dough balls and add chocolate chips. Flatten balls in 1cm(2/5 inch) thick.

6. Bake for about 10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for at least 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely hence it is quite soft when it is done.

This surely tastes different from cookies normally eaten outside of Japan. I love eating Matcha flavored sweets with a cup (or more) of green tea. Fancy cuppa with Japanese style??

And benefit from eating/drinking green tea? According to news today, it may cure (skin) cancer. At least three cups of tea a day as Huff post tells… What a piece of cake!

eBay Photo Improvement!

8 Jul

Quite often, we have got questions from customers asking how big stickers or cards are. When you try to buy something online, whatever it is, size does matter. I’ve been thinking we should have measurements on eBay listings.

Now all stocks are in my hands. So using rainy Sunday, I have been working on taking new photos of our products. Here is one of the photos I took earlier today.

I mistakenly did wrong setting on my camera… So it looks a bit like instagram…So I’ll have to try to make it more like “product photo”. But I think it is very convenient for customers. Hope I can upload all the photos before Yuki comes back.

By the way, I am currently using Fuji X100. It is really a cool camera. When I left my former company, I bought this for myself as a farewell gift. I didn’t know anything about photography. I just liked the design of this camera. I just fell in love right away when I saw this. It was not cheap. But now I am really loving using this camera.

Fortunately, some of my friends taught me how to take photos and use this camera. So all the photos on eBay were taken by this camera.

If you have any query or request about our products, service, etc… please don’t hesitate to drop us a line. We are happy to help then improve our service!

Happy Canada Day!

1 Jul

Happy Canada Day to Canadian customers!

It is Canada Day. I am not Canadian. But we’ve got Canadian customers occasionally. So I would like to cerebrate Canadian National Holiday a bit! It is going to be Independence Day in America, too! Canadian and American customers! We ship to North America!

By the way, This is first time for me, Akane, writing this blog. Now Yuki is in Japan. So I am in charge of her rolls while she is having a blast summer holiday in Japan! (Jealous??)  I would like to write something funny, but nothing came up to my mind so far… So I used Canadian Holiday for an excuse… 😛

I am usually working on Merchandising side of mocomoco tokyo using my former experience as a Stationery Buyer in Japan.  Also taking pictures of products, making logos and so on…

Now I am very happy that I can have opportunities to do some customer service which Yuki is always doing. New things, new experience!

It is Sunday evening in London. I am now going down to a local pub to watch Euro 2012 match. I am not a big fun of football. But I like lively genki (“cheerful” in Japanese) atmosphere! How do you spend a nice Sunday evening??

30 May

Hi everyone!

It’s been so long since I wrote last!
While I was away from here, there was an event where mocomoco tokyo had a stall.
It was YMCA Fun Run at Priory Park in Crouch End on 20th May. The weather was sooo bad! Freezing and very very grey. Especially since we’ve had such a tropical weather from the very next day of the event till now, can’t help but wish if the event had been last week.
Yet we met very nice people and witnessed lots of happy faces looking at our stickers and cards. So it was worth it!

We recently had a massive order from a shop, already delivered all orders. I’ll let you know about the shop when I confirm with them first.
What you need to worry right now is that our stock is much less than before. Some of them were sold out, many of them have only small amount left in stock!!

These are the items with a few stock. We don’t know when we will get next order yet, so be alert!

These are only 2 more left!!

Do you find anything you like? Well, simply go to our eBay shop and take it before it’s gone!!

I’ll show you our products with only 1 stock tomorrow!!

Thank you for reading and keep enjoying the sun and heat everyone (while you can)!!

Easter Egg Hunt!!!

3 Apr

Hello everyone!!

Are you happy that it’s Easter weekend? It means less work! Oh I am sure if you are student, it’s an Easter holiday!

I told you about us having a stall again this weekend? I have now confirmed the details!!

The event is Easter Egg Hunt at Capel Manor Gardens!  We will be there on Saturday from 11am to 16pm.

There is an entrance fee but lots of things happening! I am sure you can have a good time!!

You can check more details of the event at http://www.capelmanorgardens.co.uk/events/easter-egg-hunt.html

We will be sharing a stall with the lady from Kids Bee Happy again! (http://www.kidsbeehappy.co.uk/)

Last week at the event, Kids Bee Happy attracted not only kids but also their mums. A boy was hesitating to play with it (it was offered for free as a trial) but once he started he just couldn’t stop it! Not talking at all. This is a very good way to entertain your kids!

We are offering a lower price than eBay again this Saturday. PLEASE do not miss this chance!!!

We are so excited about this Saturday!! Hope to see many of you there!!!

Have a lovely evening!!

More events!

30 Mar

Hi everyone,

It’s friday, YEAH!!
The weather has been fantastic this week in London and I bet so many people found it hard to go to work when the weather is so nice outside.

The event last night was great. It wasn’t a huge one but there were these amazing girls. They loved our Dress-up girls stickers so much! One of the girl had to go to her mum to get more money to get another one after purchasing a sticker and a sticker book. She actually repeated that 3 times!!! We even made heart shape Origami together!!
It was really nice to see people’s reaction when they see our products. We can’t have a peek when you are looking at the computer screen at home. It was very meaningful to us!

So now we are having a stall again next weekend! Why not!! We havn’t comfirmed all the details about the event yet, I will let you know here as soon as I find out!!
It is going to be a big event, we are so looking forward to it! Hopefully I can meet a lot of people and share “aww, I can’t choose one!!” moments like yesterday with more girls!!!

I haven’t posted any photos last few days, so I’m going to show you my Nintendo 3DS.

I have decorated with our adorable Felt Panda stickers. It’s quite tricky to show you the texture of this sticker. It is felt material and it’s kind of fluffy.

This is more close-up. Sorry I don’t have a nice camera with me! Can you see it is not just a flat plain sticker?
I love this sticker!! My 3DS is black and panda does the great job on it!!

How about a little decoration on your “can’t-live-without” gadgets??

Have a lovely weekend everyone!!!
