Matcha Fever!

23 Aug

In last blog post, Yuki mentioned “Matcha Kitkat”. We both are in love with Matcha (Green Tea) Flavor. We can buy many Japanese stuff here in London. But unfortunately Matcha is not really one of them…

Matcha is very addictive. If you had once before, you know how addictive it is! So I am always thinking about Matcha flavor. Then I decided to buy Matcha powder last time I went back to Japan. (Yuki even bought more of it when she went back!) Once you have it, you can make everything Matcha flavor. Matcha latte, Matcha icecream, Matcha chocolate, Matcha bread!

Last week, I had some spare time. I was a bit bored… Then ta-da!

I baked Matcha Cockies! It looks quite greeny, isn’t it? I followed the recipe very carefully, but somehow it was too much green tea taste in it… But I loved it.
Anyways, here is a recipe of Matcha Cookie I bakes.

*Matcha (Green Tea)  Soft Cookies*

Margarine (or Butter)     50g (Room Temperature preferably)
Granulated Suger              50g
Honey                                    15g
Flour                                      100g
Matcha Powder*               10g (if you want that greeny as I baked, put less)
Baking Powder                   1/2 tea spoon
Chocolate Chips                 50g (or as much as you want)
*You can buy at oriental super market
1. Whisk the butter in a bawl. If it is not warm as room temperature, just microwave it for about 10 seconds (if 700w)
2. Microwave honey and suger for 10 seconds to make it smoother. Add in the bawl with the butter. Stir well.
3. Add the flour, the matcha powder and the baking powder. Stir well until you can’t see powder anymore and  it gets dough texture.
4. Preheat oven 150 degrees C. Then get baking sheet ready on a tray.
5. Make golf ball sized dough balls and add chocolate chips. Flatten balls in 1cm(2/5 inch) thick.

6. Bake for about 10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for at least 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely hence it is quite soft when it is done.

This surely tastes different from cookies normally eaten outside of Japan. I love eating Matcha flavored sweets with a cup (or more) of green tea. Fancy cuppa with Japanese style??

And benefit from eating/drinking green tea? According to news today, it may cure (skin) cancer. At least three cups of tea a day as Huff post tells… What a piece of cake!

eBay Photo Improvement!

8 Jul

Quite often, we have got questions from customers asking how big stickers or cards are. When you try to buy something online, whatever it is, size does matter. I’ve been thinking we should have measurements on eBay listings.

Now all stocks are in my hands. So using rainy Sunday, I have been working on taking new photos of our products. Here is one of the photos I took earlier today.

I mistakenly did wrong setting on my camera… So it looks a bit like instagram…So I’ll have to try to make it more like “product photo”. But I think it is very convenient for customers. Hope I can upload all the photos before Yuki comes back.

By the way, I am currently using Fuji X100. It is really a cool camera. When I left my former company, I bought this for myself as a farewell gift. I didn’t know anything about photography. I just liked the design of this camera. I just fell in love right away when I saw this. It was not cheap. But now I am really loving using this camera.

Fortunately, some of my friends taught me how to take photos and use this camera. So all the photos on eBay were taken by this camera.

If you have any query or request about our products, service, etc… please don’t hesitate to drop us a line. We are happy to help then improve our service!

Ready to go!

9 May

Our new products are on eBay for sale now!

I’m going to show you one of the products more closely today.

All of our new cards is fantastic!! I have to get some of them for myself too, honestly!

This one is my favourite. This is such a unique and lovely card.

It comes like this.

And then when you open it, it’s like this! (I know my English is rubbish! But that’s what photos are there for, right?)

I didn’t leave that Vaseline accidentally!! I did it on purpose to give you a general idea of the size.

You can hang it by using the strings on the both ends, or the card is such a good boy (or girl?) so it stands without any help!

Like this. (Again! My vocabulary’s so poor today!)

I’m sure many people display birthday card for a bit. I’m always not sure how to put it because I don’t know which side should come to a front. Inside or outside of the card?

This way?

Or this way?

You don’t need to have this problem with this card! (or maybe no one else has the problem anyway…)

This is a birthday card (there’s a space for a message on the back) indeed but is also a decoration for a room at the same time.

This is definitely worth the money!!

I’m going to introduce more of our new babies. We hope you find the ones you love.

Thank you for reading and don’t forget to visit our eBay shop to see other products!!

Have a lovely evening everyone!!

Good evening everyone!

How has your Easter weekend been so far?? I had a good night out with my friends on Thursday and a lovely day with my Japanese friend today.

We talked about what we can and can not say in English.

It’s actually a kind of funny topic. For example, people say “Cheers” all the time. Our question was whether it sounds a bit weird or unnatural for us to say that.

We are not native English speakers and you can tell straight away from our accent and appearance. We are still learning English everyday and we pick up a lot of vocabularies and expressions from our everyday life.

Something like “cheers, mate” is always there. You hear it all the time.  You pick it up and then want to use it. Copying native speakers is always a great way to master another language, definitely. But me saying “cheers mate” is a bit too much, I think.  I mean I wouldn’t actually say that. No. But maybe “cheers” is fine. The thing is that it is impossible for us to tell if that sounds okay or not. My husband is a native English speaker and he told us that it is not weird at all for us to say “cheers” but it might sound like we are trying too hard if we said “innit”. It’s only his opinion and it really depends who says it, how you says it or when you says it.

It is just one silly example but what I want to say is that there is no definite rules or text books to tell us “you can say “cheers” but maybe you don’t want to say “innit” with Japanese accent”.

Am I explaining it well? Hope you know what I am trying to say. It is always a big topic for me to understand that kind of thing and I am sure if you are living in a country where people speak a different language to your mother tongue. You want to speak their language better just in order to communicate but at the same time you don’t want to sound too unnatural. Or is it only me?!

Anyway, enough of my silly English issue.

Right. Tomorrow is the day!! We are having a stall at Capel Manor Gardens tomorrow. From 11 am to 16pm. The prices for all the products are lower than eBay!! Yay!!

It is an Easter Egg Hunt event. Please come along and have a look at our lovely stuff!!!

Really looking forward to seeing you!!

Good night and Happy Easter everyone!

Birthday present

26 Mar

Hello all the lovely people who are reading this right now.

Yes that’s you. You are lovely because you are here to read mocomoco tokyo blog!

It’s fantastic weather today in London!!!

I just went to a post office to ship some orders. There is a small park on the way and people were sunbathing and kids were playing. I love it when the sun is out and everyone is out! I was very surprised to see it when I just came to this country but I loved it and completely understand the need of the sun now!

Today I want to show off something. The other day I went out with my friend. She ordered me some of our Dress-up girls stickers and a sticker’s book. She works as a nanny and it is a birthday present for a girl she looks after.

Because she is a lovely friend of mine and I decided to use my stickers to make it more special!

I put my 3D alphabet stickers to write “HAPPY BIRTHDAY”

Sorry this is not included in our service and these alphabet stickers are a bit different from what we have for sale. Our alphabet stickers you can buy have patterns on them so please be aware of that!

But of course you can use our stickers with patterns and make it like this!

I think this is very cute way to decorate a bag or envelope of a birthday present or card!!

The girl’s birthday is a bit far away and I can’t wait for her to receive it!

Hopefully she will love it♥

Do you like this idea? Why don’t you try it??

Enjoy this beautiful day everyone!
